AutoKorrect Customer Terms of Service

These Customer Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to all services booked through AutoKorrect (“AutoKorrect”, “we”, “us” or “our”), whether those services are carried out by an AutoKorrect technician, partner technician, self-employed technician, independent contractor or other technician arranged or facilitated by us.
By booking an appointment, using our services, or making payment for a service, you (“you” or “the customer”) agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not book or use our services.
These Terms are intended to be read together with the information provided to you when making your booking, including your quotation, appointment confirmation, and any specific written agreement between you and AutoKorrect.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any legal rights or remedies that you have as a consumer which cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

1. Eligibility and Acceptance

You confirm that:

  • you are at least 18 years old; and
  • you have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

Your booking and/or use of our services constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
A copy or link to these Terms is be provided to you by email, text message, WhatsApp, our appointment system or payment facility.
Where our booking or payment system requires you to confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms, you must do so before proceeding with the relevant booking or payment.

2. Our Services and Technicians

AutoKorrect arranges and facilitates vehicle repair and refurbishment services.
Services may be carried out by technicians who are self-employed, independent contractors, partner technicians or other independent service providers arranged or facilitated by AutoKorrect.
Technicians are expected to have appropriate experience, qualifications where relevant, and appropriate insurance for the services they undertake.
Where a technician is an independent contractor, the technician may be responsible for the physical performance of the work. However, nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict any liability or consumer rights that AutoKorrect or the technician cannot lawfully exclude.
Where you have a concern about work carried out by a technician arranged through AutoKorrect, you should contact AutoKorrect in the first instance so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, assist in resolving the matter.

3. Booking an Appointment

Appointments are subject to availability.
A booking is confirmed when we have accepted the booking and, where applicable, received the required deposit and sent you confirmation of booking.
We reserve the right to decline a booking where, for example:

  • the requested service is not suitable for the vehicle or parking;
  • the damage cannot reasonably be assessed or repaired;
  • the proposed location is unsafe or unsuitable;
  • the necessary equipment cannot be used at the proposed location;
  • weather or environmental conditions prevent the work from being carried out safely or to an acceptable standard; or
  • other circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent the service from being provided.

Where reasonably possible, we will explain the reason for any cancellation or proposed change.

4. Appointment Times and Arrival Windows

Any appointment time provided to you is an estimated arrival time, not a guaranteed arrival time.
Please allow at least one hour either side of your stated appointment time for the technician to arrive.
Arrival times may change because of:

  • traffic;
  • weather;
  • delays at previous appointments;
  • the nature or extent of previous work;
  • access or parking difficulties; or
  • other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We recommend that you do not make time-sensitive plans involving your vehicle until the technician has assessed the work and provided an estimated completion time.
We will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed of significant delays.

5. Deposits, Cancellation and Rescheduling

A deposit, normally between £30 and £50, will be required to secure an appointment. The amount applicable to your appointment will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Our standard contractual cancellation policy is that deposits are refundable where you give us at least 48 hours’ written notice of cancellation.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, fail to attend or are unable to provide reasonable access to the vehicle, the deposit may be retained to cover the appointment and associated costs.
However, this cancellation policy is subject to any statutory cancellation or refund rights that apply to you. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict those rights.
If you need to reschedule an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative appointment.
Where AutoKorrect cancels or is unable to provide the service, we will normally offer an alternative appointment or refund any payment that is due to be refunded, subject to applicable law.

6. Weather and Environmental Conditions

Many of our services are carried out outdoors and are therefore dependent upon suitable weather and environmental conditions.
We may postpone, reschedule or alter a service where weather or environmental conditions could:

  • affect the quality or durability of the repair;
  • prevent products from curing or applying correctly;
  • create a safety risk;
  • prevent equipment from being operated safely; or
  • otherwise make the proposed repair unsuitable.

Where reasonably possible, we will contact you to arrange an alternative appointment.

7. Quotes, Estimates and Assessments

Photographs and information supplied before an appointment may not reveal the full extent of damage.
Any estimate based on photographs, telephone conversations, online enquiries or other information supplied before the appointment is therefore indicative only, unless expressly confirmed by us in writing as a fixed quotation.
The technician will carry out a physical assessment where appropriate.
If additional damage or work is identified, the final price may differ from the original estimate.
Where additional work is required, we will explain the additional work and any additional charge to you before carrying it out where reasonably practicable.
You may decline additional work, although this may mean that the original repair cannot be completed or that only part of the requested service can be provided.

8. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for the service is due in full on completion and before the technician leaves the premises.
The technician will request payment before leaving.
Where a third party is expected to pay for the service, the person who made the booking and/or the vehicle owner, keeper or person responsible for the vehicle remains responsible for ensuring that the agreed amount is paid, unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
If payment from a third party does not arrive, we may require payment from the person who made the booking or the person responsible for the vehicle.
Accepted payment methods will be communicated to you at the time of booking or payment.

9. Payment Confirmation and Inspection

You should inspect the completed work before the technician leaves where reasonably practicable and raise any immediate concerns with the technician.
Payment does not remove or waive any statutory rights or any rights you may have under these Terms, including rights relating to services that have not been carried out with reasonable care and skill.

10. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate information about the vehicle and the damage;
  • ensuring the vehicle is available at the agreed appointment time;
  • providing reasonable access to the vehicle;
  • telling us about any known issues, previous repairs or circumstances that may affect the service;
  • obtaining any necessary permission for work to be carried out at the chosen location;
  • ensuring that the proposed location is suitable and safe; and
  • following the aftercare instructions provided to you.

If you fail to provide reasonable access or the necessary conditions for the service, we may need to reschedule the appointment.

11. Personal Belongings

You should remove personal belongings and valuables from the vehicle before the appointment.
To the extent permitted by law, AutoKorrect and the technician are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings left inside the vehicle where such loss or damage is not caused by our negligence or other breach of a legal duty.
Technicians are not permitted to remove, adjust, install or fit child seats.

12. Parking and Service Location

The technician will normally need to park their vehicle next to, behind or in front of your vehicle.
You are responsible for arranging suitable parking for the technician’s vehicle where reasonably possible and for informing us of any parking restrictions or access requirements.
Where parking charges, permits or other reasonable parking costs are required for the technician to attend, these costs will be payable by you in advance.
If the appointment is at a third-party property, premises or car park, including underground, multi-storey or council-owned locations, you must ensure that:

  • there is sufficient height clearance for the technician’s vehicle;
  • there is sufficient space for the technician to work safely;
  • there is adequate lighting;
  • there is suitable drainage where water may be used;
  • the location permits the proposed work;
  • you have obtained any necessary permission; and
  • there are no restrictions that would prevent the work from being completed safely.

If the vehicle is parked on a public road, you are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is positioned legally and that there is sufficient safe working space.

You are responsible for parking penalties or charges incurred by you.
Where a parking charge or penalty is incurred by the technician’s vehicle because of arrangements made by you or information supplied by you, you may be responsible for reimbursing that cost where legally recoverable.

13. Safety and Suitability of the Location

The technician may assess the proposed location before starting work.
If the location is considered unsafe or unsuitable, the technician may refuse to start or continue the work until a suitable alternative location is available.
Factors may include:

  • traffic;
  • pedestrian safety;
  • insufficient working space;
  • poor lighting;
  • weather;
  • drainage;
  • height restrictions;
  • electrical or other hazards;
  • access difficulties; or
  • conditions that could compromise the quality of the repair.

Where reasonably possible, we will work with you to identify a suitable alternative.
We will not be responsible for reasonable costs or inconvenience arising solely from a necessary change of location where the change is required for safety, quality or circumstances outside our reasonable control, subject always to your statutory rights.

14. Wheel Refurbishment

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, standard alloy wheel and diamond-cut wheel cosmetic refurbishment is carried out with the wheels and tyres in situ.
We do not normally remove wheels or tyres for standard refurbishment.
Our standard refurbishment is generally intended to repair cosmetic damage such as kerbing and scuffs to the visible face and spoke areas of the wheel. The inner barrel or drum is not included unless expressly agreed in writing.

Diamond-Cut Wheels
Our mobile diamond-cut wheel refurbishment is a SMART cosmetic repair, rather than a CNC or lathe-cut refurbishment.
The repair may involve preparation and smoothing of the damaged area, colour matching and application of paint and protective lacquer.
The result is intended to replicate the appearance of the existing wheel as closely as reasonably possible, but it may not be identical to a factory-new or machine-cut finish.
If you require a true CNC/lathe-cut refurbishment, you should confirm this with us before booking.
A full lathe-cut refurbishment is a different process and normally requires removal of the wheel. It may also remove a portion of the wheel’s original surface and can therefore affect the number of times the wheel can subsequently be machined.

Wheel Damage We Do Not Normally Repair
Unless expressly agreed in writing, we do not offer standard cosmetic refurbishment for:

  • cracked wheels;
  • welded wheels;
  • buckled wheels;
  • severely dented wheels;
  • structural wheel damage;
  • wheels that are losing air; or
  • other mechanical or structural defects.

Where we identify structural or safety-related damage, we may refuse to carry out cosmetic refurbishment.

Wheels Removed by Agreement
If, by prior written agreement, wheels are removed during a service, you should have the wheel nuts/bolts checked and correctly torqued by a suitably qualified professional tyre fitting service or garage as soon as reasonably practicable and, where possible, within 24 hours or 10 miles of driving, whichever occurs first, and to keep your speed to a maximum of 30mph until such time.
Until the torque has been checked, you should avoid unnecessary driving and drive cautiously.
Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Manufacturer, Dealer and Lease Requirements

Before booking a cosmetic repair or refurbishment, you are responsible for checking whether the proposed repair method is acceptable to:

  • your vehicle manufacturer;
  • dealership;
  • lease company;
  • finance company;
  • insurer; or
  • any inspection or end-of-lease organisation.

In particular, if your vehicle is subject to a lease or finance inspection, a SMART cosmetic refurbishment may not be treated in the same way as a factory or CNC/lathe-cut refurbishment.
We cannot guarantee that a third party will accept a particular repair method.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for charges or penalties imposed by a third party solely because that third party does not accept the repair method you selected.

16. Paint and Cosmetic Repairs

Mobile SMART repairs are carried out outside a factory-controlled environment.
We aim to achieve a high-quality repair that is visually consistent with the surrounding vehicle.
Minor differences in colour, shade, gloss, texture or finish may occur, particularly where:

  • the original paint has faded or weathered;
  • the vehicle has previously been repaired;
  • the underlying surface has deteriorated;
  • the colour is difficult to match;
  • the vehicle is particularly old; or
  • environmental conditions affect the repair.

Repairs are assessed from a normal viewing distance of approximately one metre under normal natural lighting.
A repair should not be assessed solely by using close-up photography, artificial lighting, magnification or unusually close inspection intended to emphasise minor imperfections.

17. Aftercare

Unless we provide different written instructions, you should:

  • avoid washing the repaired vehicle or wheels for at least 7 days after the repair;
  • avoid harsh, acidic, caustic or corrosive cleaning products;
  • avoid automated or hand car washes during the initial curing period;
  • take care when using pressure washers; and
  • keep pressure-washer jets at least 1 to 2 metres away from repaired surfaces where possible.

Failure to follow reasonable aftercare instructions may affect the durability of the repair and may affect the applicable guarantee where the damage results from inappropriate aftercare.

18. Guarantee for Paint Repairs

Paint repairs are covered by a lifetime-of-ownership guarantee for the customer who owns the vehicle at the time of the repair.
Please do not touch, tamper with, or interfere with any recently refurbished wheels or repaired bodywork, as doing so may affect the finish and invalidate any applicable warranty or guarantee.
The guarantee is non-transferable.
The guarantee relates to the formulation and application of the repair and is intended to cover deterioration caused by a defect in the paint mixing or application process.
The guarantee does not cover damage or deterioration caused by circumstances including:

  • corrosion or rust, whether visible before the repair or developing afterwards;
  • failure or deterioration of the underlying surface;
  • a previous aftermarket or defective repair;
  • further accidents or impacts;
  • stone chips;
  • scratches or new damage;
  • inappropriate cleaning;
  • corrosive or unsuitable chemicals;
  • pressure washing or cleaning carried out contrary to our aftercare guidance; or
  • other damage unrelated to the quality of the original repair.

19. Guarantee for Wheel Refurbishment

Wheel refurbishment is covered by a 6-month guarantee.
The guarantee applies to the quality of the refurbishment process and does not cover subsequent physical damage, corrosion, kerbing, impacts, scratches, structural defects or deterioration caused by inappropriate aftercare or external factors.

20. Complaints and Rework

If you believe that a repair has not been completed correctly, you must contact us as soon as reasonably practicable and provide details of the issue.
Where appropriate, we may request photographs or arrange an inspection.
If the complaint is upheld, we will normally be given the opportunity to rectify the work before any refund or other remedy is considered, where this is appropriate and legally permissible you must allow us the opportunity to attend and inspect the issue and allow the technician to return and rectify any issue.
Where reasonably practicable, the rework appointment will be carried out at the original service location and by the original technician.
However, we may use another technician or another location where circumstances require it.
We will not unreasonably refuse a remedy that you are legally entitled to.
If the issue cannot reasonably be rectified, we will discuss the appropriate remedy with you, which may include a full or partial refund or another appropriate solution depending on the circumstances and your legal rights.

21. Limits on Remedies and Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts:

  • liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence;
  • liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • liability for any other matter that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited; or
  • your statutory consumer rights.

Where legally permitted, AutoKorrect’s liability in relation to a particular service may be limited to the amount paid for that service.
This limitation will not apply where the law does not permit such a limitation.
If a customer refuses a reasonable rework appointment or does not allow AutoKorrect and/or its technicians a reasonable opportunity to inspect and investigate the reported issue, the customer may forfeit any right to seek liability, claims, compensation, or financial reimbursement from AutoKorrect and/or the technician responsible for the service.

22. Technicians and Independent Service Providers

Where a service is performed by an independent technician, that technician may have their own business, insurance arrangements and legal responsibilities.
AutoKorrect may facilitate communication, appointment management, payment arrangements and other aspects of the service.
However, our role does not remove any rights or remedies you may have against AutoKorrect under applicable law.
Where appropriate, AutoKorrect may assist in communicating with the technician and arranging an inspection or return visit.
Where a service has not been provided correctly or to the agreed standard, any financial, contractual, or legal claim arising from that service shall be made directly against the contractor, self-employed worker, or technician who carried out the service, and not against AutoKorrect.
AutoKorrect acts solely as a booking agent and, where a service is performed by an independent contractor, repairer, self-employed technician or other third-party service provider, responsibility for the workmanship, service provided, and any resulting claim, loss, refund, compensation, legal proceedings or liability rests with the independent service provider who carried out the work. By booking a service through AutoKorrect, the customer acknowledges and agrees that AutoKorrect is not the provider of such third-party services and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, releases and indemnifies AutoKorrect from claims or liabilities arising from the independent provider’s workmanship or services, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

23. Vehicle Damage and Claims

If you believe your vehicle or property has been damaged during an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible and provide photographs and details of the alleged damage.
We may arrange for the vehicle or property to be inspected.
You should give us and/or the relevant technician a reasonable opportunity to investigate the allegation and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.
Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising any legal rights or remedies available to you.

24. Personal Injury and Safety

You must follow reasonable safety instructions given by the technician.
You should keep children, pets and other people away from the work area while work is being carried out.
Technicians may stop work if they reasonably believe that the working environment presents a safety risk.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

25. Gift Vouchers

Unless otherwise stated on the voucher:

  • a minimum spend of £100 per appointment applies;
  • one voucher may be used per customer/appointment;
  • vouchers cannot be combined with other offers or discounts;
  • a voucher must be redeemed in a single appointment;
  • vouchers have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash; and
  • the voucher must be presented or referenced when booking and made available at the appointment where requested.

Gift vouchers are subject to any expiry date stated on the voucher.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights that apply.

26. Changes to Appointments or Services

We may need to change an appointment because of:

  • technician availability;
  • weather;
  • traffic;
  • vehicle condition;
  • equipment requirements;
  • safety considerations;
  • location restrictions;
  • unexpected workload; or
  • circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where a material change is required, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and, where appropriate, offer an alternative appointment.

27. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control

We will not be responsible for delay or failure to provide a service where the delay or failure results from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Examples may include severe weather, flooding, traffic disruption, road closures, accidents, equipment failure, illness of personnel, industrial disputes, public emergencies, government restrictions or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been prevented.
Where possible, we will contact you and arrange an alternative appointment.

28. Privacy

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By booking a service, you acknowledge that we may need to process information necessary to administer your appointment, communicate with you, process payments and provide or facilitate the requested service.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about how your personal information is handled.

29. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.
The current version will be made available through our website.
Changes will normally apply to future bookings and services.
Where a change affects an existing booking or contractual relationship, we will provide any notice required by law.

30. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any contract between you and AutoKorrect are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of any mandatory protections or rights available to you under the law applicable to your circumstances.
Subject to those rights, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from or connected with these Terms.

31. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as removed or modified only to the extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue to apply.

32. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the applicable quotation, booking confirmation, service description, Privacy Policy and any other written terms expressly agreed between you and AutoKorrect, form the agreement relating to the relevant service.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and a specific written agreement relating to your particular service, the specific written agreement will take precedence to the extent of the conflict.

33. Contact Us

If you have a question, complaint or request relating to your appointment or these Terms, please contact us:

Important Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to take away your legal rights as a consumer.
Where the law gives you rights relating to the quality of services, cancellation, refunds, repeat performance, price reduction or other remedies, those rights continue to apply.

Where a statutory cancellation period applies to your booking, you may have a right to cancel within that period. If you ask us to begin providing services during a statutory cancellation period, additional rules may apply, including rules concerning payment for services already provided and circumstances in which the cancellation right ends.
